Q: What are my BHC certificate requirements?

  • Mark all videos and lessons as complete.
  • Complete a minimum of 50% (13 of 26) of Skills Labs from Pillars 1-3
  • Pass Pillar Quizzes 1-3
  • Complete and submit proofs for 6 CTD practice conversations
  • Complete and submit proofs for 2 practice clients in the 90 Day Program

Note: If you began your course in or after June 2018 then your CTD conversations will be known as Open the Relationship (OTR) conversations.

Q: How do I find the course?

Once you are logged in at http://access.healthcoachinstitute.com/ you will be on your Learning page. On the upper left section, click the 3 horizontal lines and hit Courses.

From  here, simply move your cursor over the course title "Become a Health Coach" or simply click "Launch"


Q: Where are my handouts?

You can find handouts on the "Available Downloads" section of your Course Overview page. You will be taken to your Course Overview page once you have launched or double clicked the Become a Health Coach course.

Simply click on "View All" and all the folders and subfolders for BHC module will be displayed.



Also, students may now search for handouts through the "Search Field". The Search bar can be found at the top of every webpage of the Access portal as seen below.

Q: How many videos are there per week?

The number of videos varies per week. Please refer to your weekly newsletter, sent on Friday afternoon/evening, for exact details on the upcoming week’s lesson.

Q: Can I move ahead with the course?

Our courses are structured in a way that you can only do the material that has been released, in line with traditional schooling, where one lesson and Skills Lab is released per week. Please also note that, in order to provide service to all cohorts equally, students are only able to begin creating a website through CoachLeads once this lesson has been released to them in Pillar 3 Week 5.

Q: Where is Pillar 4?

Pillar 4 is released generally the week after you receive Pillar 2 Week 6. It is typically released mid-week. It is available as a separate course on your the Learning Page  and is not required for your certificate.

Q: When are my Pillar Quizzes released?

Your Pillars Quizzes are released the week after the final week of the respective Pillar. For example, Pillar 1 Quiz will be released the week after you receive your final lesson in Pillar 1, called Pillar 1 Week 7.

Q: How can I get course-related questions answered?

The Support Team focuses mainly on technical, navigation, and financial issues. They are not qualified coaches and therefore may not be able to answer your specific coaching question. If you have a course specific question, e.g. “When should I implement theory “x” with my client?”, there are 3 channels which you can use:

    1- Your Coaching Demo Lounge call. Call in and “raise your hand” and you may be able to have your question asked. Alternatively, you can submit your question before hand by electing to be in the "hot seat", which means you would be coached by Carey, Stacey, or a Success Coach live on the call. To submit an application to be in the hot seat, please click here. Please note the student chosen for this will not be notified ahead of time, so if you fill out the application, please be sure to be on the call!

    2- Reaching out to your Tribe on your Student Chat or FB group. Your Tribe will all be at various stages of the course and you all come from different background in regards to coaching experience. The group allows you to discuss problems and find your own answers, much like a small study group in college. We strongly encourage self-study and discussion between our students!

Q: What do I do if I start to get behind in the course?

If you feel like you are getting behind with your course, we strongly recommend reaching out to your fellow students in your FB group. They are an amazing source of inspiration, guidance, support, knowledge and help. If you still feel overly challenged, please contact the Support Team directly with your issues and we will be happy to see what we can do. Remember, you have a full year to complete the 6-month course, so students will be at various stages as the course is released. There is always someone in the same boat!

Q: What do I do once I have completed the course?

Once you have completed the course requirements, a large golden tile will appear on your Learning page. Click the link to request your certificate and answer all questions so that you will be added to the current certificate order. You will see our next shipping date estimate and also information delivery times.

Q: How long do I have to complete the course?

You have one year from the course start date, regardless of your enrollment date. For example, if you enrolled on Jan. 28th for a course that began on Jan. 10th, you would have until Jan. 10th of the following year to complete the course requirements.

Q: When do I get access to CoachLeads?

Your CoachLeads platform will be available once your have completed the final week of Pillar 3. A link will be added to your Pillar 3 drop-down in your course area that you can click where you will find all the details you need. You can contact the CL team directly at support@coachleads.com.

FAQS about Pillar Quizzes

Q: How many questions?

A:This changes for each quiz. Pillar 1: 35 Pillar 2: 55 Pillar 3: 25.

Q: Can you save, stop, and come back to complete in the event you get interrupted while taking the quiz?

A: No, the quiz will need to be done in a single sitting and if you leave in the middle of the quiz, you will likely be prompted to restart.

Q:Average estimate of time it can take to complete, so I can plan for that block of time to set aside for taking the quiz?

A:This depends on your study style, but all questions are multiple choice, so please base the time to take your quiz on the number of questions in each quiz.
