This guide will show you how to post comments, reply to comments, follow a post and also how to tag your fellow Tribe members in your Facebook group.

Once you have logged into your FB and accessed your course-specific group, please navigate to the top of the page. Here you will see a white box that says “Write something” in it. If you click in this, you can then begin to type.

You can type any message you wish here. You can also post links to other websites, add a photo or video using the button above the box, and “tag” other students in the group.

To post a complete message, simply click on the blue Post button under the box on the right.

To tag your fellow students in your post, simply begin typing their name in the box. Their name, provided they are in the group, should now appear in a drop down. You can click this to add them to the message.

You will know that they have been “tagged” as the name will now appear in blue in your message. You can add multiple people to any message.

In tagging your fellow students in this way, they will receive a notification in their own FB account. This notification will lead them directly to your post for them to reply to.

To reply or comment on a post, simply click on Write a Comment or Comment underneath any post. This will reply to the post as a whole. If you wish to reply to a specific comment made on a post, you can click Reply underneath the comment in question.

If a topic is of particular interest to you, you can follow a post and receive notifications every time a new comment/reply is posted. To do this, simply look to the top right of the original post and click on the small grey arrow. This will show a dropdown that says “Turn on notifications for this post”. Click this to follow the thread. You can use this same method to stop following a thread also.

You are now ready to dive into your Facebook Group and join the discussion!
