Q: How do I sign in to Access once I've signed up?

When you enroll, you will be sent an email titled "Login information for [USERNAME] at HCI Access". This email will include your username and password. Once you have this, please go to https://access.healthcoachinstitute.com and login from there. If you need to request a new password, please follow the steps found here .

Q: How do I get into my lessons?

The best way to access your lessons is to click your Navigation Menu on the top left corner of your Access site, and then click "Courses". You can then click directly on your course title to view all course materials. To pick up where you left off in your course, click "Continue".

Q: How does my course completion percentage work?

Throughout the course your percentage marker will change. Generally, it is representative of the percentage complete of work that is available to you. However, as new materials are released to you, the percentage may fluctuate. Please do not worry about this. To ensure that your work is being recorded, please make sure that the videos you have watched and the proofs you are completing have a score mark of 100. 

Please also note that all students will begin their course with 10% complete. This 10% accounts for your course orientation, which is not required to earn your certificate.

Q: Do I have to fill out my profile page?

While it does help your classmates to get to know you better, filling out your profile page is not required. The only update we strongly suggest you make is to please select your time zone. This will help other students who may request to be your Skills Lab partner to know if they are available at the same time as you. Q: What are milestones and badges?

Milestones are markers you can use to track your progress through the course and towards earning your certificate. Badges are more for fun and are awarded based on things like how many Skills Labs you've completed. 

Q: What is a bookmark?

A bookmark is a tool you can use to save a page you visit frequently on your Access site. To bookmark a page, simply click the hollow star at the top right corner of the page, which will then turn gold. When you go back to your Navigation Menu, you will see the bookmark listed on the right. You can then click on that bookmark at any time to be taken directly back to that page.

Q: What are the events on my calendar?

What you can find in that calendar are your lesson release dates, Coaching Classrooms, Demo Lounges, and Skills Lab appointments you've set up with your partner via the Skills Lab Scheduler. 

Q: What is the directory for?

If you previously had worked with a Skills Lab partner and would like to work with them again, but don't see that they have a time requested in the Skills Lab Scheduler, you can head to the directory and message them from there. Just find who you want to contact and click the envelope or chat button beneath their name.

Q: If I message someone and they write me back, where will I receive their reply?

You can view someone's message to you by either going to the Navigation Menu and clicking "Messages" or by clicking the envelope icon in the upper right side of your Access HCI site.

Q: Is there another way to speak with someone on Access HCI?

Definitely! There is a chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of your site. You can use that to chat with someone in particular or all BHC students, regardless of class.

Q: I completed a lesson, but in the Results section, it says "Not yet evaluated", "In progress" or "Failed". Why is that?

Whenever you click on a lesson, Skills Lab, quiz, or coaching session, it logs a result. If you click the green checkmark at the end of the lesson/lab/quiz/session, then you are marked as completed. If the checkmark is not clicked or if a required question is not answered, it would be marked as one of the other three statuses.

Please note we would never penalize you for revisiting course materials, and so only the best results are taken into account. To ensure your lessons has been marked as complete, please go directly to your Course page.

Where the results section does come in handy is if you ever get confused on who you worked with for a coaching session. You can go to any completed piece of work from the course and click "View Answers" to see what answers you put in for an OTR or 90-Day coaching session. (If you haven't started the course yet and don't recognize those terms, don't worry! It will be explained as you move further into the course.)

Q: What is Career Services?

Career Services is a compilation of resume creation guidelines and interviewing skills tips, as well as resource for companies who are currently hiring coaches. Whenever we are contacted by a company seeking to hire a coach, we will place their job posting on the Job Opportunities tab of Career Services.

Q: How can I get in touch with Support?

Support is here to help you with any questions you may have so you can thrive in your journey to becoming a coach. You can contact us in one of three ways: 

    1. Click the chat icon in the bottom left hand corner of your Access HCI site. If we are not already assisting another student, we will answer and can talk you through anything you might need.

    2. Email us by going to the Navigation Menu and then clicking "Support". While you're here, we highly suggest browsing through the articles in our Knowledge Base. This is usually the quickest way to find an answer. If you are looking for an article on a particular topic and can't find it, please let us know!

    3. Call us at any of the numbers listed at the bottom of the Knowledge Base. We are available from 8am - 11:30pm EST, 7 days a week.
